Excellent album to follow up Kezia. |
I've found this to be quite mediocre. My friend had forced me to listen to it, but I didn't despise it or like it. Just another emo/hardcore band trying to make a couple bucks off the whole scene/emo trend.

Protest the Hero is totally doing their own thing. No idea what you're talking about with the whole rippin the scene/emo trend.

can't personally comment on the unoriginality, as I don't really listen to this type of music. but I really liked the guitar and drums. 'Limb from Limb' has some awesome moments.

I'm not familiar with the genre so I can't comment on it's lack of originality, but I will say that it opened to the doors for me. I was never into any kind of metal but I've definitely been scoping out new stuff after hearing it. I love this album.

ive never heard of them before but i just listened to it and they are ok.

Listened to this cd quite a few times and really liked it. The vocal styles and guitar work especially. Really need to check out Kezia from what people are saying in this thread, so I can compare the two. |

Gorgeous
This album and band for this matter, are not my favorite style, but how they bring everything together is just so beautiful and unique I cant help but get into it. When i first heard this album i picked up on the amazing singing and thought that to be leading the whole band, but then i heard the elegance of the guitar and i quickly changed my perception to the combo being the key to this compilation, but after some reconsidering i have come to the conclusion that all the band members are so skilled and complement each other so well.
You cant be an artist until you have made a work of art ... they are artists |
I love this band and I love this album. A really under appreciated element of this band is Arif Mirabdolbaghi's bass. I mean all of the instrumentation in their songs is of virtuoso quality, but I urge people who haven't really heard the bass in PTH's songs to go on youtube and look up Arif's bass tracks. They're a lot funkier than people would think.
Here's a sample, and there are others out there: |
