I don't see the point in doing the same old thing that has already been done before. If I want that I'll just go back and listen to actual 80s synth-pop.

I'm pretty much the same. At first I was pretty excited about the album because it felt like classic synthpop and I love a few of the songs on it. Soon enough I was only listening to those few, then those got boring. I still like those songs but most of the album is very forgettable and bland.
There are bands now making classic synthpop with a new twist like Washed Out and Neon Indian. I haven't really gotten into much but I do really like the Life of Leisure EP by Washed Out. |
