I got into these guys early last year and sort of wrote them off as another subpar Brit band (at the time they were still getting lumped in with Nu Rave). Got into them again a few weeks ago thanks to Navigate, Navigate finally getting release, and having stopped reading music blogs almost entirely, I actually had to find out about it through a fashion blog.
Anyway, I gave them another chance, and while Beat Pyramid is at least more interesting than your average NME Britrock, it isn't that much better. They strike me as being pretty much the same as every other current British band, except instead of being influenced by the Sex Pistols they're influenced by PiL. |
