I don't have many thoughts on this. Joanna Bolme is a cool musician. I guess there's nothing wrong with this but I'd much rather listen to Pavement and I don't even like Pavement.

It really hurts to see a musician who I respect very much do something like this. This feels way too 70s rock for me. I've never listened to anyone of his other jicks stuff but I did enjoy some Silver Jew tunes.

Interesting album from the first listen, the drums sound abit aloof at times and some of the noodling gets abit samey. But apart from that I'd say it's better than the first jicks and better than anything the silver jews have ever done.

I'm really feeling this. It's pretty progressive in places but (as already mentioned) still catchy, I certainly prefer it to Pavement's later stuff. A good companion to the new SJs record
