This Ain't a Scene hardly sounds the typical pop-rock/pop-punk type thing they had before, just listening to the intro shows they're doing something different and just going for straight up pop which is what Panic! is.

Um, I've never once seen that. I think on FUSE they talked about In Rainbows release style once but I wouldn't call that heavily advertised...care to talk about these maybe find some links somehow or something? Because this is news to me. I know Kid A was advertised on the BBC, but that was a long time ago and there releases follow that were even less accessible and mainstream friendly (barring some tracks on In Rainbows.) Either way there's a difference between what you originally said (Radiohead have been big on MTV, which would mean being ZOMG TRL RADIOHEAD NUMBAH ONEEEEEEEEE) and just being on the BBC.
