Why would they try to sound like Panic!?
Fallout Boy have created an enormous fan base themselves, which is larger then Panic!'s imo. If anything I'd expect the new Panic! record to try and imitate Fallout Boy, but I doubt thats going to happen.
lol so a fan base is a determining factor in their musical talent now is it?

Panic! should never aspire to sound like FOB....Panic! sound isn't similar to FOB if you actually listen to more than their lyrics and listen to the music arrangements and all the musical aspects.

Rap artists have gone over to Fall Out Boy and im going to say that they sound horrible with rap. im sorry if you like them with it but i hate it.
You are talking about the slower version of "This Aint' a Scene..." that kayne west produced and added a verse to. I like the way it sounds production wise but something is a little off about it. Gym Class Heroes has a remix version of Clothes off with a few rappers and I heard that in their next album they are going to lean on the rap side of things a bit more.

You're kinda proving my point not yours.

No, just saying that FOB had a bigger fanbase then Panic!, and that I prefer FOB

Panic! was much bigger on the internet and has Radiohead has recently proven being bigger on the internet>being bigger on MTV. I think Fall Out Boy is aware of this, oh and Panic! also had more hits from their last album than Fall Out Boy did, could be another reason FOB want to sound like Panic!

Jefree Star is big on the internet, doesn't really mean that that weirdo is good. Radiohead have been big on MTV for the past decade, they just used the internet as a way to give the fans back something that they deserve. It's extremely naive to think that a band wants to sound like Panic!, given their very short length in the public eye, and especially since FOB have been an established act far before Panic!.

If they don't want to be like Panic! than please explain why after Panic!'s success they've started to break away from their typical pop-rock thing they've been doing since they started.

And Radiohead have been big on MTV for the past decade? What are you talking about? Radiohead's mainstream popularity has been on a downhill slope since OK Computer, which was released almost 11 years ago.

They still have the typical pop-rock thing going on...
If they don't what "thing" are they playing so?

Yeah they haven't been "ZOMG TRL RADIOHEAD NUMBA OOONNNEEE" since Ok Computer, but every single mofoin' release has featured near heavily on tv. Ok Computer is no where near the best btw.

This Ain't a Scene hardly sounds the typical pop-rock/pop-punk type thing they had before, just listening to the intro shows they're doing something different and just going for straight up pop which is what Panic! is.

Um, I've never once seen that. I think on FUSE they talked about In Rainbows release style once but I wouldn't call that heavily advertised...care to talk about these maybe find some links somehow or something? Because this is news to me. I know Kid A was advertised on the BBC, but that was a long time ago and there releases follow that were even less accessible and mainstream friendly (barring some tracks on In Rainbows.) Either way there's a difference between what you originally said (Radiohead have been big on MTV, which would mean being ZOMG TRL RADIOHEAD NUMBAH ONEEEEEEEEE) and just being on the BBC.

This Ain't A Scene is extremely pop-rocky.

The sound itself, not just how the song progresses, is soooooo pop it should come in a bottle priced just under a euro in Tesco's.
Not saying it's bad, I like it.

Hail to Thief was pretty damn big on MTV, since we're talking about that particular station. The build up to it was big, and then There There had a lot of coverage as did Knives Out. I don't really watch BBC so I couldn't tell you anything about that.

You realize the structure of something doesn't have anything to do with how it sounds right?

Yeah I was saying it was pop, you were saying it was pop-rock/pop-punk like their old stuff.

There There only received moderate radio play on modern rock stations from what I can find, I can find no chart information on it other then moderate success worldwide and that it reached number #3 in England which is to be expected since Radiohead are popular there. As for Knives Out it wasn't even on Hail to THE Thief so...

*facepalm*
Pop-rock, pop it practically the same mofoin' thing nowadays. The 90's you actually had defining pop-punk but not now.

You're actually looking up chart information from years ago?
Jeez dude chill, we're only debating our own views on a subject

Ah I see, to be fair I never really listened to Hail to The Thief, lost interest in them around that time as I got into Nirvana. I just remember a live version of Knives Out knocking about MTV's channels the same time as There There.
