Question Song similar to Alphaville's "Sounds Like a Melody"

I am searching for a song that I was reminded of when listening to Alphaville's "Sounds Like a Melody".

In that song there is the line "The ringing of your laughter..."

The song I am thinking of also has a line where the male voice is high pitched but then there's a small pause after which it is followed by the same but darker voice that rhymes with the previous line and starts off the same way.

An example of the lines from my song, including pronunciation in [brackets]. Note that these are not the actual lyrics of the song:

High pitched voice: "She's looking in the mir-ror[long]"
Same voice, but dark: "She didn't have a goo-d[long] day"

What is the song that I am thinking of? It is most likely from before 2012.

Listen to the part at 1:02

Or could be "Ultravox - Dancing With Tears In My Eyes"
