OK, this is going to be a tough one. When I was in grade school in the late 1950s (I'm an old guy) we used to sing songs in music class. We used to sing a song about the Grand Coulee Dam but it wasn't Woody Guthrie's song and it didn't use the tune of "The Wabash Cannonball". I can only remember the tune and lyrics of last part of the last verse, which went something like this:
"Let all men lend a hand And spread throughout the land For Uncle Sam The great Grand Coulee dam." I've listened to many different renditions of Woody Guthrie's song and it definitely wasn't his song that I remember. |
