Help finding source of music used in video game Civilization V
Hey, I need help to find a music piece used in the game Civilization V, which is part of Germany's peace theme. The game's music scores mainly consists of tunes from other musical compositions relevant to said nation mashed together into a new soundtrack, and I am looking for a specific part that is part of Germany's peace theme.
This is the full track to the peace theme of German nation (I cant post complete links, so you will have to type in the dots of the url yourself): www(DOT)youtube(DOT)com/watch?v=gtmUMX5sKlU The part I am looking for is between 0:19 - 0:37 and 3:03 - 3:23. Does anyone know what is the name of the original composition this part is taken from? |

Even without 15 posts you can embed YouTube videos by taking this code: gtmUMX5sKlU
and embedding it with [YOUTUBE] tags: As for the Civ theme, what makes you so sure those parts are from a classical piece? The main inspiration is obviously the "ode to joy" section from Beethoven's 9th but couldn't the other parts be something made by the game's composer? |

I dont think that the other parts are original pieces by the composer, except maybe just some interlude's between the pieces. Them being original pieces would differ greatly from the pattern of what I think almost all themes in the game are composed of other previous works from all over the world.
I can also detect the melody for the german national anthem in some parts of the theme, but other then that can't put my finger on which other melodies are used other then Ode To Joy. I may also remember wrong, but I think I also somewhere have heard the specific melody I am looking for from somewhere else, but I can't remember where. It was my hope somebody would recognize the specific piece and be able to give me it's origins. |
