Looking for rare/obscure chill lyricless songs from circa 2000-2002
Hi everyone
I've been trying to replace two songs i lost when my disc man was stolen in 2005 lol. They are both definitely from before April of 2002. more than likely released in 2001, but possibly 2000, maybe even 99. They fall into that very chill style of music adjacent to artists like Cujo and Kinobe. One of the songs features a very bossanova vibe similar to Cujo's "The Brazilionaire", but definitely more upbeat tempo. The base line is actually reminiscent of Sade's "Paradise". Another song that gets a bit of the vibe is "Sweet Calling" by Quantic. the other song was much more melodic. No bossanova influences, but a "floaty" melody, similar to "Stealing Happy Hours" by 311. I could whistle both of these tunes... to an extent. I wonder if I should upload a recording somewhere? Otherwise, hopefully someone one out there has some encyclopedic knowledge of obscure early 2000's electronic music lol. Thanks so much in advance!!! |

I found one of them! "samba tranquille"
Hi everyone!
Thought I'd share this nice piece of news! I actually found one of the songs. Its the "bossanova" one that I described first is actually called "Samba Tranquille" by Thievery Corporation. It was released on the album "Mirror Conspiracy" on April 2, 2000. I was able to find it by creating a Sandora Station using the Cujo and Quantic songs I mentioned in my earlier post. I hope someone else gets some joy out of listening to this wonderful little tunes, its easy to find one Youtube (of course once you know the NAME of it!) Cheers, |
