Neoclassical Song with Unusual Percussion
There was a radio program that played instrumental music we used to listen to when I was a kid. Some of it was classical, some of it was modern and neoclassical.
My brother recorded an entire cassette tape of this radio program which I rediscovered recently. Most of the music was rather commonplace and boring to me, but one caught my attention for the abrupt change 3/4 of the way through and the unusual, whimsical percussion it uses. It sounds like the violin is being rather abused! I'm not allowed to post a link yet, so try this: go to Soundcloud dot com slash ellohay slash what-is-this-composition Does anyone have a clue what composition this is or who the composer might be? I know it's a long-shot, but the instrumentation is really unusual. Compare the first half and the end to see what I mean. |
