Song from the 90s
Hello, all.
What is that song, I think it's from the 90's, that starts out with a repeating sound that is 1 bar in duration, and sounds like a record spinning up with the needle already on the record, playing a sustained minor string chord? It reminds me of White Town, Fatboy Slim, Moby, or something of that nature. It's a dance tune with a sad or desperate tone. I don't know if it has any lyrics. I don't remember the artist or the name of the song. I think it was moderately popular, and it may have been included on movie or TV soundtracks. |
Groove Armada?

That is very close, and an excellent match to my description!
I was thinking of a different song, where that sound is at about the same tempo, but higher-pitched and clear, not muffled. |
I thought that Groove Armada's "Chicago" might have sampled the song I'm trying to find... my search found that the sample is actually from Public Enemy's song "Brothers Gonna Work it Out."
I have been listening to music recommendations on internet radio trying to find this song, it's getting serious, now... |
I finally found the song I was searching for. It is "Extreme Ways" by Moby.
My post count is insufficient to post a link, so here is the Youtube video ID: nBB2bPwKWVg |
