70's Tune - solo male (except chorus)

I can't find this song or who sings it at all. I know it from childhood (70's) and it's a male singer. It's a mellow easy listening radio tune. The lyrics I remember go like this;

'It's you girl that saved me, it's you girl I can't live withouuuut yeah, oh yeah!'
Chorus (with added male vocals) 'when you just don't see the sunrise, when you just don't seem to see' and 'running away with you' and 'as time goes on'.

Pretty much the meat of the lyrics that I know is the first sentence. I hope anyone can help! If not, I appreciate you looking it over. Take care.
