what's the source of 80s Riff used by War On Terror in Red Eye
It's doing my head in....where does the riff in first 15 seconds of Red Eyes , by War On Drugs (Not War On Terror...sorry guys) come from?

I'm assuming you mean The War on DRUGS? And the song is "Red eyes"? You should probably correct that if so. Don't know the riff: why do you think it's not original?

It's definitely very, very close to a very popular eighties opening riff: My brother has been trying to figure it out for 6 weeks and introduced me to his version of "torture by obsession" by asking for my help a few days ago. I originally though it may have been an Uncanny XMen riff, I don't know why, but I had the feeling it was an Aussie bad. |

It sounds like a cross between "Sultans of Swing" by Dire Straits and Grateful Dead's "Touch of Grey" It also sounds a little like the solo in this (fast forward to 3:00)
