Looking for song title or artist name..
Hi there!
My nephew was playing this song by Handbook, called Birdsong (you can find on youtube) and i was paying attention to a certain part of it at the end (about 3:31 in) where it plays what seems to be the original song that this Handbook-song had sampled. I was hoping that maybe someone could tell me a little more about this song og the artist(s). So please, if you have a minute - take a look. As stated above the song by Handbook can be found on youtube - i'm talking about the part that begins at 3:31 here.. I believe it's an old soul song from the 70's or so judging from the sound. The lyrics used in the (tiny) sample - about 10 secs - goes like this: "When we kiss, when we caress there's a certain emptiness about you (about you)" and i think he also sings "like a bird without a song".. I can't figure out who the voice belongs too even though i've tried to pitch it down to (what i think is) the normal speed of the song, to retrieve the original voice, but no luck.. Also spend the past week searching lyrics all over the internet, still no luck. So please, if you have a minute or two, try and see if you know the song. Thank you for your time! |

Almost... (NOT!) that wasn't funny at all! okay, a little, but still!
ima quote myself again: anyone knows a good music-discussing board where older people might be at? I think there's a better chance of getting an answer on boards with older users |

from your age and up.. Need to ask somebody who's heard alot of 70's soul music. But not the rock-kind (like mustang sally and stuff).. I need someone that heard all that 70's love/baby-making soul .. But thanks anyways - it's probably a random not-that-famous song afterall.. It's just sad that it's doomed to be forgotten just because it wasn't no hit-single like many other great songs that noone know of anymore..
