Default What's the name of this oldie...should be easy

This is a song I've heard many, many times...I just wish I could remember the lyrics. It's quiet and starts like this...

bum BUM
bum ba BUM ba doobie doo bum BUM
bum ba de DUM (lower) be do..bum BUM...

The song it sounds closest to is "Every Day" by Buddy Holly, but I don't think this one is his.

Any ideas? It's a well-known song for sure.

The only thing I could think of is "Breaking up is hard to do" by Neil Sedaka...

It's not that one, but thanks...

This is frustrating because the one I'm thinking of is DEFINITELY a well-known hit. I just don't know any of the actual lyrics.

The song you're looking for is "Come and go with me" by the Del Vikings.
