Default PLEASE Help me identify a mid 90s country track

This is all I remember really and TBH my memory is a bit hazy:

It was played on CMT Europe all the time about 95/96 I am pretty sure it was a new release (in the US) then.
I keep thinking Alan Jackson but I been through loads of youtube vids and cant seem to find it, so if you can suggest someone like him from around then it might be a start lol.
The song was a slow powerful one. I am fairly sure the story of the vid and song lyrics had something to do a woman being abused by her boyfriend.
The only thing i can remember of the vid was the singer walking away from a block of apartments above a row of shops and possibly something being thrown at him from a balcony.

I know its not much to go on but this has been getting to me for the best part of 10 years now lol.

Thanks in advance.

Nope, a friend suggested that one.
If it were somepne like Brooks, Tritt, etc I would have remembered I think. Either it was someone who didn't have much success or a one hit wonder.
