Help needed from Italy
 

Hi,

OK this is a strange request... but here goes:

I am trying to obtain a recording of an Italian female reading Ovid's Orpheus & Eurydice in the original latin (mind you.... Italian will be fine)....

It will be set to music and I will send you the finished product. Credit will be given.

Can anyone help?

Why are you so amazed there have been no replies? You said yourself it was a strange request, and so it is proving. How many people here do you think are even into Italian opera?

Have you tried the classical section?

You don't necessarily have to be Italian to read a Latin text properly.

Inde per inmensum croceo velatus amictu
aethera digreditur Ciconumque Hymenaeus ad oras
tendit et Orphea nequiquam voce vocatur.

nec laetos vultus nec felix attulit omen.

In fact, I could do it myself....... but I'm a man. And I don't know if there is a female Romanic-language speaker here. I think there was a girl from Romania some time ago, but I'm not sure...

You can ask some YouTubers. For instance, there is this Italian channel about Latin language and Literature.
