Hello, 1970's pop fans..need song ID HELP please!
I am trying to find out the name and artist of a catchy slow beat song that was commonly played on the radio in the summer of 1979.
The bass line is similar (but not the same as) to that of Walter Egan's "Magnet and Steel". The song was sung by a solo male singer with a voice similar that that of Steve Miller. One more hint, the word GIRLFRIEND is somewhere in the middle of the song's LYRICS. I am building an ultimate collection of 1970's popular songs and the sought song will make it complete for me. I have not heard this song on the radio in about 25 years. |

Magnet and Steel has a very typical Rock n Roll bass line. Did you go through charts to see if anything jars your memory? Was it US or Uk hit? Try this for starters.
