There's a song named Tuuli ("The Wind") by Hedningarna, a Swedish-Finnish alternative folk-rock band. Obviously, this group has nothing to do with Native American music, but this song has some sounds similar to it.

Sites provide different information about Native American songs and their likeness but i think that is difficult to answer your question for early 90 s . Although i know that that was also one of the best decade for Native Americans songs.
