Default Genre of music from Gladiator and Troy

Gladiator and Troy are 2 films based in ancient greece, the music of which is very distinct. How would you describe the genre of this music? I want to find more music like it with that sort of african singing.

Here is "now we are free" from gladiator, hopefully you can hear what I mean...

Any ideas?

You could look up more music from Dead can Dance (the woman singing in the song you posted is from that group)..perhaps you might also like music from others such as Clannad, Enya..maybe even Deep Forest. That music I would put in the catagory of New Age.

Keep in mind who composed Gladiator's soundtrack: Hans Zimmer. He has a particular style which has been very influential. And also, as Liljagare said, Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance's vocalist). I think in general terms that style is usually labeled as "New Age". There is a series of albums by Karl Jenkins named Adiemus which has similar sounds. Maybe you like it too.

Default additional thoughts

James Horner's soundtrack piece from "Mighty Joe Young"--'Dedication and Windsong'--is haunting, stirring, and inspirational. It runs 9 minutes. Sample it in Amazon's MP3 section.

Default Music Type

That music type used in Gladiator Troy and Now 300 is call Sufi it's a type of music that gives praise to or calls our to a higher power somewhat religious. India, Celtic, Greek, Iran, North Africa, and Scandinavia all have this type. So if your searching you must specify which region because its based on religion region and cultures that I listed above.
