Who made this cover of "Sleigh Ride"?...
It plays on the radio every year at Christmas-time and it's by an African-American female duo or something. It's a high-energy song.
The song goes "Giddy up, giddy up, giddy UP-PAH!... SLEIGH RIDE! SLEIGH RIDE!" (Repeat) And near the end of the song, the other girl shouts "Alright girl, sing!" It's not TLC, the Spice Girls or the Ronettes, the song came out in the 90's or the 00's. It's a popular cover-version. But I've searched for hours on YouTube, and surprisingly, I can't find this version of Sleigh Ride. I'm trying to build my Christmas music playlist. Does anyone know the version I'm talking about?... |

I found it!
Nevermind, I found it. It's Debbie Gibson and the background singers are African-American. All these years, I thought it was probably Whitney Houston. My memory of the song was kinda fuzzy. I haven't heard it in years.
After hearing it again, she actually sounds more like Madonna and Cathy Dennis... It took me 2 days to find this. I had a feeling it would be an artist that I didn't expect. I had to go on WhoSampled to see every artist who made "Sleigh Ride" in the 90's. Also, I'm surprised that this song doesn't have a million views even though it gets a lot of radio-play. The search is over. Last edited by Doge0123; 05-14-2024 at 08:09 PM. |
