Oh did they mention that in their awesome show banter? They never did when I saw them. But I don't like Northern State very much, I think they're annoying. Fortunately for me I didn't see them with tegsar though, my friends did and she said they were so bad it was hysterical.

Yeah, I love it when stuff from some of my favourite bands past shows up. It's always fun. :) Tegan and Sara talk about how they used to do acid all of the time, and I believe Sara said it was because it was the only drug you could get from your locker mate in high school. Haha.
Hesta Prynn is interesting for sure. She used to be a part of Northern State, if you've heard of them.

Well they aren't as good as An Horse but they are a good old band of Kate Cooper, yeah Tegan and Sara wrote all of those songs on the demos while they were still in high school, they might have been dropping Acid, I wouldn't know. I didn't see Tegan and Sara with Hesta Prynn, but she seems interesting for sure.

They might have writen it when they were younger, though. Tegan wrote Are You Ten Years Ago when she was twenty-five, even though she recorded it when she was twenty-seven. I think...
I've never done acid, but something about those lyrics really stricke me as being drug-induced, but maybe they were just a little strange. Regardless, I still really love it. As far as Sainthood goes, it took me a while to get acclimated. But I am well obsessed with it. And despite what anyone says about it, Our Trees makes me smile. A lot of fans hate it. xD
I discovered Steel Train and Holly Miranda during their tour with T&S as well, that's also where I came across Hesta Prynn. They have a great taste in music.
I checked out Iron On, too. I rememer reading about Kate having another band before An Horse, but I forgot the name before I could look them up. :P That video you posted was very adorable, haha. I liked it, but definitely not as much as An Horse. I

I meant 16 when they recorded the Play Day Demo (my favorite demo of theirs as a matter of fact)

On acid? Really? They were 17 when they recorded the Plunk Song! I doubt they were doing acid when they came up with those lyrics. But I do love Steel Train and Holly Miranda, both were really great opening up for Tegan and Sara (when I discovered Holly Miranda). My favorite Tegan and Sara, probably This Business Of Art, just slightly over Sainthood.

I don't know when it comes out, but not too soon. They said (on twitter/facebook/somewhere - i can't remember) that they arrived in Vancouver to start recording the new record a couple of days ago. I'm super psyched. :) Love those two.
Even though in a lot of their earlier stuff, especially Plunk Song, it's so completely clear that they were on acid - I still like it a lot. Aside from their demos, my favourite studio record is If It Was You, but it's kind of a close call.
I haven't heard of any of those bands, aside from The National. But I've only heard of them. I like a lot of music. It's kind of a wide range. My favourites -aside from T&S and An Horse- are Sleater-Kinney A Perfect Circle, Uh Huh Her, Holly Miranda, Steel Train, The Cliks, Hesta Prynn, etc.

Ooh An Horse has a new album out? When? And I first heard of them two years ago when I saw them open for Tegan and Sara, they were so awesome. Tegan and Sara's old stuff is amazing, actually 4 of my top 5 T&S songs are songs from demo's/early albums. I like a lot of random stuff, top 5 favorite bands right now. Tegan and Sara, The Hold Steady, The National, Paul Baribeau and Best Coast. What about you?

I just recently discovered An Horse about two months ago! I really love them and am looking forward to their new record. I'm so surprised that you know of An Horse, they're quite underrated.
And anyone that likes Tegan and Sara, especially their old stuff, gets an A+ in music taste from me. What else do you like?

You listen to some great music. Tegan and Sara, An Horse. I love it.
