in case you wandered,
NO, white-washing, white-whatever doesn't exist. Let's just have humans play humans in a "not-race-conscious"/"not-race-about-controversy" play The controversy lies somewhere else. The action is important. Not the names. Not who plays whom. Who gives a ****. It's the actions of the characters that matter. People really did those things to other people.

"Your Mother Should Know" is one of my favourite songs ever since I can remember
It's just so weirdly done. I mean, sure it does follow the pattern of McCartney's "vaudeville" stuff, but it just has such a haunting atmosphere. The sadness in his voice, the subtle and very beatlesque changes, and I also love how it starts with that bass pumping the song forward. Also the reverb on that piano is also one of the most beautiful I've ever heard. Or whatever they used to create that tone. My favourite Beatle song is "When I'm Sixty-Four" actually. I could never understand why people are oftentimes so critical of songs like the two mentioned above and "Honey Pie" and a couple of others that Paul wrote in this style. |
