My very first 3D project was our solar system in real world units. This was 1991 or so and I had access to our company's CAD system 24-7, so I'd go in at night and play around. I learned quite a bit about the distances and sizes of our planets, as well as teaching myself the 3D world of AutoCAD and it's AME extension (which I got from a local community college via BBS). In the 3D model, if you zoomed in you could zoom all the way to my office and then if you zoomed in to the bathroom next to it you'd see a fly on the toilet, and if you zoomed in even further, you'd see a naked woman in the fly's eye. I only detailed a few things in the surrounding area and just the state outline, but it set the stage for a lifetime of building worlds in digital formats. Fun stuff.
Just a note, it was hard to tell what you were referring to in that last post. Maybe a bolded title would help the reader a bit.
