You can't buy just the one CD? It'll break your hipster cred?

Yeah but nobody's doing that and you're not a trend setter.

I still can't bring myself to believe that analog sound and bigger artwork are enough to explain people under the age of 40 who legit collect vinyl. I'd buy a vinyl copy of an album I ****ed over and had bombass artwork just to say I had it but other than that it seems frivolous.

What is it about the collecting? The aesthetic of the giant cover? The aesthetic of the giant vinyl? Both? I mean I get how collecting stuff can be irrational but still make sense to the person in question even if they can't put it into words. I mean I have a giant collection, hundreds of gigs, of digital comics on an external hard drive. Most of it I'll likely never read, but I don't care cause I just like having it. Not even just because it gives me the option to read them if I want, but it's oddly soothing to have a comprehensive library of things you think are cool. And this does not interfere with my buying of actual comics, nor does my physical collection cause me to delete digital comics since they're two separate collections and it doesn't matter if I have duplicates. To delete my digital copies would be to leave holes that would feel wrong.
