Think I might add to the "Protecting Yourself On The Cheap" posts with things other than firearms, like best knives, pepper spray, tasers, knucks,etc.? Whatcha think?

Well, no matter what I write about, it will get shit on, so I may as well just stay in my wheelhouse. Maybe I will talk about the hollow Earth or extraterrestrials or the secret space program. If I can find something that others are interested in as well, then it makes it funner and facilitates positive interaction.

If you can connect brass knuckles if not probably pepper spray.

Against non-humans I think a knife.

I was being serious. Coshes (small clubs) are very simple, cheap, and effective. I think they'd go well in your affordable thread you're thinking of making.

Had to look up that term. I'm unfamiliar with it.

For a cheap version, you could go with a billiard ball in a tube sock. The old standby is a sock full of quarters, but if you have that many quarters, you can afford to buy a cue ball.
