To me, massive images that distort what you've written come across as insensitive and don't-give-a-****, and since you were talking about how you wished people read your journal more, well, seems a bit silly to stick to your guns when you could just resize or even spoiler the images. Up to you of course, but it ruins it for me. One of the things I was always told when making websites was, take into account that people view them on different browsers, so make sure everyone can read what you've put up, and read it comfortably, or they'll just click and go elsewhere.
