Everyone welcome!!!
Too bad you couldn't have competed against all the good journals back when this section was actually active but nice job anyway.

Number Eight

Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides
Studio album by Sophie

At first I told Ant that this wouldn’t make my top ten but would make my top twenty-five if I were making one. Now I wonder if this shouldn’t be number one. A brilliant pop record is probably the most elusive pot of gold at the end of the longest rainbow over the roughest seas. Simultaneously avant garde dance floor popping booze selling and mdma infused. It’s got to be the future as it should be and really will be and is now as we soldier on unaware of Derrida‘s metaphysics of presence. And yes that’s really what’s on the table here.

I’ve read those back in the day journals. This is the best journal in Music Banter history, by far.

Freak Fighter 2018 Top Ten Albums Continued

Number Seven

Stadium
Album by Eli Keszler

https://shelterpress.bandcamp.com/album/stadium

Keszler isn’t just a virtuoso regarding the way he maneuvers the mechanics of his instruments but a virtuoso at handling the physics of sound. Revolutionary of the 21st Century he’s left the 4 minute / 3 minute miles behind and left us googling wtf was a mile. There aren’t many who can escape Schoenberg’s finality of tonality limitations dead end but there’s a Lazarus of Bethany (Bathory?) Award for some. Perhaps time will tell us.

Spoiler for sputnik:

Laika - first and I believe the only dog so far murdered in space

Number Six

strie - perpetual journey

Olga Wojciechowska creates an incredible tribute to Laika under the alias Strië.

Instantly unassailable.

Nothing to add from my original post introducing this record.

Number Five

Angelika Niescier, Christopher Tordini & Tyshawn Sorey -The Berlin Concert

This is an absolute must for fans of free jazz. It’s Ganelin Trio level good.

Number Four

God's Body
Album by Jachna / Mazurkiewicz / Buhl

There’s this thing some of you might know about with Sketches of Spain where the trumpet is used as a transcendental spiritual device. This goes further with the transmigration. One note can change, maybe even destroy, your life (or lives).

This is the What Is OH Listening To? thread + blurbs. I do the same thing in the actual Listening threads. Lots of people do. And why are your entries in bold? It just looks weird.

You’ve done a great job. Especially for a man feeling around in the dark but now I’ve lit your way.

I like this journal. I didn't post in mine as much as I wanted to this year but I'm happy with it. 2019 will be a better year.
