This came up on my 2016 playlist and I was thinking yeah this kind of sucks. Maybe it’ll be the first one I don’t even bother listening finishing listening to. So I give search through MB. Mord likes it. Figures. Run it through Google and lo and behold it’s got praise galore. How can this be? I read the pitchfork review https://www.google.com/amp/s/pitchfo...-varmints/amp/ and it occurs to me: This album provokes Gone Girl syndrome. You know how people think Gone Girl is wild but really it isn’t? I’m not even being the least bit facetious when I tell you this is a good reminder to myself that I’m light years more sophisticated than the masses. Even if they write for Wire. Goddamn y’all are lucky to have me to straighten this **** out for you.

Edit for afterthought: it's funny how all those internet boys were livid about the ghostbusters reboot, as if something sacred had been ruined. Like, the original was almost as bad, and at least the reboot had some sex appeal to make up for it
