Okay, you know what, metal albums are fine to rec. I hate limiting myself even though it seems more logical considering my other thread. But I just can't be arsed deciding what's metal or not. Just lay them on me, and I'll review them in here and post them in the other journal. If anybody wants to change their recommendations, go ahead, but do it quick since I'm going to start listening and reviewing soon. Remember, 2 albums per person, any genre.

Eric Dolphy - Out to Lunch!
Cloud Nothings - Attack on Memory

One you'll hate and one I think you'll dig.

That's some required ass listening right there. You should move that to the top of the list, violet.

I realize a lot of these albums might need more chances, so each album will be listened to twice, the second time being when I review it as well. But I'll listen to them once without reviewing, just to take it all in properly. And if I sense that an album is a grower, I will go beyond 2 listens to really give it it's due.

Anyway, I'll be rolling all these reviews out starting January 1st, which gives me loads of time to take all your recommendations and give them a good chance. Also, please don't only rec me albums that you KNOW I will love. I actually like to think I have taste and am open-minded, and I don't just want to be sat there listening to the cheesiest pop **** you can find just because you think that's what I'm only after. If you think I will hate it, but you love it, just recommend it anyway. And one more thing. You can rec me albums I've heard before, if you want to see a review of it, or just my general thoughts. I will re-listen to it regardless. I'll link my RYM in the OP, so you can check and see what I have and haven't listened to. If you perhaps see an album that has a low rating, and you want me to re-listen to it and give a review, that's fine, I'm all up for that. That's all anyway.

You were the one that recd it to me like a year ago, I'm passing the album on now. it's been my favorite jazz album ever since.

Anything involving Dolphy is worth the time tbh. I've recently gotten back into Out There. It's not as strong or catchy as Out to Lunch! but it's still damn good. The Illinois Concert is great too.

I seem to recall that even I, with my hatred of jazz, had to admit to enjoying that...
