Blank Does Whatever He Damn Well Pleases

OI want this to be a place for whatever. But i want to try and have one new review on it from new music every day. Though these aren't going to be super in depth. So here goes nothing!

Let's launch this with a review!

CKY - Volume 1 (Stoner Rock, Alternative Rock, Alternative Metal)
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...CKY_vol._1.jpg

Recommended by Tristan. And it is awesome! It's just a serious of heavy stoner riffs from start to bottom. And its just amazing! My favorite song after one listen is probably Knee Deep.

Radiohead - Kid A (Art Rock, Experimental Rock, Electronica)

I listened to some Radiohead in high school, but just couldn't get into it. It simply wasn't for me. But recalling it now, I'm pretty sure the only song I ever listened to was creep. So it was time to give them another opportunity. I listened to Kid A and it was great. I honestly really dig it. Not sure what to say about it other then it wasn't the post-grunge wannabe Nirvana that I was expecting. I think with a few more listens, this could be in my favorite albums.

Favorite track: The National Anthem

Thanks bud :)

Did I recommend you anything before? I feel like it was Title Fight or something of the modern post-hardcore/emo/grunge scene sort.

You've listened to stuff off emotion? It basically sounds like any given 80's synthpop record with some modern up-touching.

Keep in mind I don't like, love it like Qwertyy does but I still hold it in good regards. Not a masterpiece by any means. Just one decent pop album.

I love it more than Qwerty. Qwerty can suck my dick.

Today's review is Jesus The Carpenter's Jesus Loves You.
https://f4.bcbits.com/img/a2503193671_10.jpg

How do I describe Jesus loves you? Uhhh... I was 16, had my first act guitar for about a week and thought I was gods gift to man on the instrument already. So I hit the record button and outcomes some of my first pieces. And those musical pieces were atrocious. The fret buzz, the timing being seriously off, and the mis-playing of notes. Jesus loves you sounds a bit better than that. Yet it still sounds like every boy who just got his first instrument and after a week of playing already thinks they're a master.

Does the album have its moments? Yes. The Return of Shiva has a moment where it sounds like a old 1940's blues song that definitely was a nice moment. A number of the songs have moments where they become a bit more traditional sounding (though I use the term traditional loosely). I'd say the album gets better as it goes along but I definitely wouldn't call it good.

Favorite track: Experienced Cleaning Training Sessions
That's only because it's the last song that ends this bad album. Sorry frown, awful. Just awful. Don't quit your day job.

Frownland 09-28-2016 02:47 PM

Surprised you didn't like it, it's my favourite stoner rock record.

I listened to the album and I heard nothing from it to consider it stoner rock.

Today I'm reviewing Radiohead's A Moon Shaped Pool.
http://cdn.pitchfork.com/albums/23244/e3c43867.jpg

So how do I describe this album? I can't. After two listens I'm not sure what to say. This album reminds me of the film 2001: A Space Odyssey. Good film, amazing production, and so on. But Jesus Christ is it boring! Nothing happens! I could go on for pages about how good this album is, but every reason I can give would be pointless cause none of it means **** when the music is boring. So boring!

Favorite track: don't have one. Nothing really sticks out.

Frownland 09-29-2016 12:23 PM

You think there are good things about that album?

It's meant to be more ambient than anything else, at least that's what I've gathered from it. I listen to it when I work because it's calming and not something I have to pay too much attention to. It's basically what it'd be like if Radiohead attempted post-rock. It's done superbly well in my opinion, but I suppose I praise it a lot.

The Batlord 09-29-2016 01:27 PM

So basically you don't have any attention span and like to listen to music that takes no brain or effort to enjoy?

At least trashy pop isn't post rock.
