Today I review Soundgarden's Ultramega Ok (1988) (Grunge, Alternative Metal, Stoner Rock) in honor of the death of frontman Chris Cornell.

I haven't listened to this album since I was a teenager, but I remember feeling it wasn't very good.

Flower - This is so much more punk than Soundgrden's later stuff.

All Your Lies - Damn good shit.

665 - This song is very weird. I love it! Lol

Beyond the Wheel - Oh shit that guitar! This is awesome!

667 - These numbered track interludes are weird and awesome.

Mood for Trouble - This is all so much faster than I remember it being. Feels a lot more punky. I guess you can say you can hear the Soundgarden's influences a lot more in this album.

Circle of Power - Fuck this is badass!

He Didn't -

Smokestack Lightning - This song is more of they'd become but more bluesy.

Nazi Driver - Hey, it's a song about Batlord... Badass song though.

Head injury - More of that punky feel.

Incessant Feel - I dig.

One Minute of Silence - Fucking John Cage wannabes.

Final Thoughts: I remember the production on this being so bad. I'm going to assume the version on Spotify is a remastered version. If so, the album is absolute badassery. The only real issue I have is the I want to be John Cage track.

☆☆☆☆1/2
