2016 In Review

So, where do I begin? I guess I'll start with my personal life.... or maybe not. I don't want to start on a depressing note. I'll start with music.

So I didn't listen to that much new music this year. Brant Bjork had album of the year with Tao Of the Devil. Great album.

Worst album of the year goes to the boring ass American Football album. Fuck that ****ty ass album.

The album that had me the happiest to find this year was... this!

And the lyrics were great too.
Quote:
We gonna do the damn thing so I hope y'all ready
Savage Man's gonna rip the microphone like confetti
And rock steady you should've never got me started
In this rap game now y'all are dearly departed
That's retarded a wrestler comin' off like this
One that's lyrically inclined with a mic in his fist
It's the Savage man with the master plan
I gotcha wavin' ya hands saying That's My Jam
Now everybody's kind shocked and amazed that
Macho Man's got yo head in a daze and
I'm bout to start a brand new rap craz cuz
I'll crush ya in the ring as well as the stage
So everybody come on put ya hands up high
Cuz we're coming with a sound that you can't deny
It's the M-A/-C-H/-O-M/A-N
No I'm not playin' I got the place in mayhem
Did he call himself retarded?

Spoiler for Depressing:
As for my personal life, not very good. Broke up with my girlfriend. Four months later we got back together for her just to suddenly stop talking to me with no explanation.

My depression just keeps getting worse and my physical pain is getting worse.

I was born with flat feet which causes me to have ankle issues. And my ankles have gotten so bad that I can hardly walk without wincing in pain. I used to be a runner in high school and I was decent enough and now when I run the bottoms of my feet feel like they're going to pop.

The constant pain caused a few relapses in my drug use. Luckily only one of those had any after effects.

My job has gotten to the point where I just want to end my life going into work. I've made jewelry my whole life. Ever since I was little. Now I'm 20 and want nothing more then too end doing it. But if I do I'll have too move back in with my parents cause I will not be able to pay for my apartment. So I'm stuck there.

So I'm in constant pain, hating my job, and no girl that I'm ****ing. Yeah, no wonder my depression is getting worse with each breath....

In wrasslin' we had an... odd year. AJ Styles had a terrific year. After a decent series of matches with Jericho. AJ faced Roman Reigns in a series of matches that were just awesome. I think AJ has been the one person to make Reigns look like a million bucks. AJ also had a great series of matches with John Cena and Dean Ambrose. Leading up to him winning the WWE title in under a year.

The only person who could of have had a better year was Finn Balor... Could of. He debuted on the main roster on his birthday winning a fatal four way match then pinning Roman Reigns clean. Then goes to summerslam to become the inaugural WWE Universal champion. Then in the match with Rollins he gets injured. Being shelved denying us what could of been an incredible debut.

TNA looked like it was going to close it's doors but managed to find a way to stay afloat. Broken Matt Hardy has started to bring the company some success. DELETE! DELETE! DELETE! DELETE!

Bullet Club added Adam Cole, Bone Soldier, Cody formerly known as Rhodes, Hangman Page, and Tanga Roa. At the current rate that new members are being added it seems that Bullet Club might become another NWO. That makes me sad.

WWE is strange. They have all these awesome wrestlers who are all incredible. Then they turn around and manage to produce **** storylines. Do with that what you will.

Ok. Time to dust this journal off and bring it back. I'll start reviewing albums tomorrow. In the mean time hit me with some suggestions to review. Maybe some topics to talk about. I see I never finished my top 10 wrestlers so I'll do that at some point later today.

I'd be interested in your thoughts on Samsara Blues Experiment's Long Distance Trip, since I think it'd be right up your alley but I'm not too sure.

Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition
Run The Jewels - 3
Jme - Integrity

There's a lot more, but I don't wanna bombard you with loads. Pick one if you're not taking more than 1 per person. Obviously you've probably listened to those albums, but I still want to hear your thoughts on them.

Ric Flair

Spoiler for big image:

In the 1980s Hulk Hogan was leading the WWF into national success. The NWA struggled to survive in this new climate. Yet the biggest name in professional wrestling was still selling out arenas in the NWA. Ric Flair.

Jim Crockett Promotions, Ric Flair's main territory, would get bought up and rebranded by Ted Turner into WCW. In 1991 Ric Flair would finally get sick of being mistreated by the President of WCW Jim Herd. He'd jump ship to WWF.

After leaving WWF in 1993 Flair would go back to WCW. He would help bring Hulk Hogan over to WCW as well. Being one of the largest draws for WCW he would bring in large viewership helping kick off the Monday Night Wars.

Ric Flair was recognized as having the most world title wins, 16, till recently tied by John Cena. Ric Flair inspired Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, Jericho, and so on. The man is indirectly responsible for the monday night wars and was one of the greatest performers of all time.

Ric Flair's "retirement" match was the perfect cap on his career. Ended at Wrestlemania against Shawn Michaels in a classic five star match that would bring tears to any man's eyes.

WOOOO!

Time to do this.

The return album is Snapcase's Progression Through Unlearning (1997) (Metalcore, Hardcore Punk, Post-Hardcore)

I think Batlord recced this awhile back but I never did it for some reason. So here goes nothing.

Caboose - Stars off with some badass metalcore riffing. Vocals come in... typical hardcore punk style vocals. Really like the instrumentals.

Guilty by Ignorance - If you can drown out the annoying snare this ****s pretty good. Good song... but that ****ing snare. I think St. Angers snare problem was less annoying.

Harrison Bergeronv - had to read this book and watch the movie my sophomore year of high school. I am curious to see which story they tell. I don't know if the movie or this song came first. The music is badass. And the snare isn't an issue this time.

Priceless - starts with some static and a quiet electric guitar. And then explodes into more badassery. Great song.

Zombie Prescription - starts of with... I don't know what it is. It's cool. Though seriously does anyone know what that is playing? Good song. Snare issue is back a bit but not as bad.

Killing Yourself to Live - Starts off cool... but that ****ing snare! This album has so many great things going but is really Suffering because of a lack of production. It's a cool song.

She Suffocates - starts off cool. Snare isn't an issue as much. It's not as abrasive. I don't have much to say about the music. It's a lot of the same. That's not a bad thing cause this band is awesome and putting some great stuff.

And youtube is having loading issues. Fucking Christ!

Ok. I got it back.

Weak Tyrant - Same story. Badass music, but it's like the songs that have come before.

Vent - This song started a bit different. But it's back to the same.

Breaking and Reaching - This song is the first one showing signs of post-hardcore... but i don't know enough on the genre to comment so.... whatever...

Outro - lol. I LIKE YOU!

Final thoughts: This was a great album but suffers from being a bit samey and bad production.
