All of these albums have evoked emotional response, but this one here has managed to bring about a plethora of different feelings during different listens. It's brought to life feelings of existential sorrow, societal anger, peaceful optimism and more. It is my top Neurosis album and I could never not love it.

I must say, this specific album possibly has the best/most daunting opening seconds to anything i've heard. The sample, followed by the first lyrics that slither into your psyche like some kind of transcendent reptile lord.

my eyes were jaded, so close to the center I could not see

Never have I heard the tone set for an album so perfectly. That line does an amazing jib to introduce the experience you are about to have over the next hour or so. Should you endure, all the way through the monumental drumming ritual "Cleanse", you come out a new man
