I get where you're coming from, I'm just uncertain that 75% of it has all been done before. You seemed confident.

Yes, my music is experimental.

That's a fair point. I don't think your stuff has been done to the extent that I'm getting at. I was just more concerned at your use of "experimental music needs to be new". In some ways I actually do agree with that.

I do think that if your genre or style is niche/tiny enough, you can still be considered experimental. Leading up to Yeezus we already had Death Grips, ICE, clipping., Techno Animal, Saul Williams and dälek among others making industrial, more abrasive hip hop, which is what I was getting at.

I certainly agree with that. I think it would also help if I said that I consider "experimental" to be more of a blanket term and not an actual genre term. I'm not saying it's not a genre term, I just never associated it with a proper genre in my mind.

Oh ja, it'd be irony embodied if experimental music had a set and specific sound (that's not to say you can't pick out trends like cacophony and dissonance though). It's about as useful of a descriptor as "guitar music", "alternative", and "Western music".

Quick thoughts: Perturbator is one of the first artists I've listened to in the synth wave genre and it certainly has not disappointed. The Uncanny Valley is a fantastic release and adds to the already fantastic releases this year has to offer.

Rating:
this is an a1 album

Eminem - Recovery (2010)

Quick Thoughts: When Recovery was released, it was a humongous step up from the trash album known as Relapse. One of Eminem's finest moments.
