Now I just want a week to go by for this forum to get ready for this, and then for Mord to come hard to act like he's just coming back casually and nothing even happened.

Like that girl who gave you AIDS but had a great sense of humor and now you regret putting her in a coma.

That's not too unlikely since DAMN. is ass but I'm not about to listen to a Mackle Moor album.

I've listened to neither album cause I'm not really arsed about either of them.

Thinking about kickstarting this back to life but reserving the right to have another meltdown in the future if called for. Gonna go with a unifying theme this time, something to satisfy my OCD.

The start of a new thing.

So this what I'm doing now, just for fun: I've got a text file with a list of every album in my collection. I CTRL+C CTRL+V it into random.org, click randomize, and listen to whatever pops up first. I remove what I've listened to from my text file so that next time I randomize, I won't get something I've already listened to with this method. So...let's get started! (Full disclosure: I have no idea what I'm talking about. Just enjoying my hobby and not pretending to be an authority on anything. Also, this list will be so derivative and hipster, you might need a vomit bag.)

* * *

0001 Real Estate - Atlas
(USA, 2014, jangle pop)

I dig this album, though my wife thinks it lacks teeth. She likes music that is more testosterone-driven, but laid-back little gems like this are right up my alley. There's some lyrical wishy-washyness in spots, but overall this is as pleasant a listening experience as one can have on a lazy day with nothing to do. Although every track has vocals except one, I want to share my favorite track, which just happens to be an instrumental. Next time you're driving and not in a hurry to get anywhere, play "April's Song".

Thanks! Hoping this method works out for me. I think the randomness of it all will keep me from feeling in a rut.

0002 R.E.M. - Green
(USA, 2014, jangle pop)

It's weird right off the bat I've gotten two jangle pop albums in a row. Weird because I have only nine jangle pop albums in my collection of 1,346 albums (as of 14 Sept 2018). Anyway, I guess this is what true randomness is about--like when stars cluster together in the night sky, whereas right beside the cluster is a wide expanse of blackness. Well, about this album: according to many R.E.M. fans, this album ends the band's perfect run from their debut through Document, but I have to disagree with the consensus. I think this album is great, and I actually like it more than any of their previous albums. Maybe I like sell-out sounds? After all, I think American Idiot is Green Day's best album. (You can just call me "Mr. Haystack".) There's so much I love about the atmosphere of Green, and "Orange Crush" is as good as R.E.M. gets.
