Ben Hur by Bitch Magnet
Year: 1990 Featuring a perfect blend of noisy production and a beautiful guitar-led atmosphere, this album just turned into my favorite of the noisier side of the genre. The first track pulls you in with it's long, ever expanding intro, then erupts into a spoken word section that immediately brings Slint to mind... In fact this whole album reeks of Fugazi and Slint influence, yet it's place on the timeline, a year ahead of Spiderland and before Fugazi started really utilizing noise, this album seems to carry it's own weight. The album progresses to include some very interesting mathy elements and out of tune basslines. Some of the textures lead me to say it's almost shoegaze in nature. The result is something every fan of the genre needs to hear in their lifetime. 10/10

I've updated the list to reflect the albums I've listened to and their respective scores. Feel free to ask if you want me to review an album I have a score for (but not too much, I don't want a larger workload than I already have here).
@Jguy... Thanks, my main goal in all this is to listen to at least one release by every band on the list. Which may take me a while, but yeah.

Was working on listening to These Arms are Snakes until my internet went out for a bit and I got too busy to turn it back on. Will post the review sometime this week.
Loving the album so far though, Mondo. Thanks for the rec.

Hey Tristan , digging the reviews. How about some album art or YouTube vids to listen while we read? Just a suggestion. Keep up the good work.

@Identity Matrix
I hadn't before just cause I'm lazy, but since you asked whatever. I'll go back and add pics for the last two reviews as well. @Mondo Bungle I've got a lot of recs from you already and I'm kinda hesistant to add more, at least until I finish some of the ones on my plate now. I'll get around to it though, thx. Thanks for all the great feedback guys! Edit: Oh I feel stupid... just realized by Please Inform you were talking about the one you already suggested. Yeah I can totally do that.

Tiger's Jaw by Tiger's Jaw
Year: 2008 For some reason or other, this band is referred to as one of the practioners of "The Wave" post-hardcore movement, which is probably because they are closely related to those bands and share similarities with Title Fight's quieter material. Other than that they sound far from your Pianos Become the Teeth's and your Touche Amore's. Regardless, this is my journal and I can put whatever I want in it. The album has a strong opening with "The Sun", which also happens to be the album's standout track. As it further progresses, we see the same formulas repeating, though they do the emo thing well, so I'll let it slide. All in all, it's a decent release. At it's high points, it really shows with it's beautiful, jangly guitar work and emotional vocals. At it's low points it still isn't bad by any means. Thus, 7/10 will suffice.
