Probably hit the nail on the head there. Next up: Downfall in English (please no!) :yikes:

Sadly most remakes happen to cash cow and that's why they're usually horrible.

Wes Craven was on board for the remake of The Hills Have Eyes himself so, all it really was, was a modernized version of the original and it's was really good. The second his son did and while it was nothing like the original sequel it wasn't bad. He did it enough justice.

I have to say can we please stop remaking amazing Japanese horror movies into really mediocre Americanized ones? Thanks. The only one I've ever watched that wasn't a complete **** show was The Ring but, I have yet to watch Ringu. I could go on and on naming horrible remakes. The Grudge, One Missed Call, Dark Water, The Eye.

Anyway that ends my rant. Again I've never watched Let The Right One In but. Let Me In was good. Usually when things are Americanized though, a movie does lose it's charm I can agree with that so I don't doubt that's true in this case as well.

That reminds me: Have you seen anything by Kiyoshi Kurosawa?
If not, check out "Cure". Amazing movie.

I actually haven't but, I know he made Pulse. Is this the right one? It must be since it's under his name. Cure (1997) - IMDb
It sounds really interesting.

That being said anyone that knows any good horror in any language don't hesitate to tell me about it because, I'm used to subtitles. I watched a great French movie I think it was completely French but, I can't remember called The Dreamers. Such a beautiful movie.

Also I should try to make a master post in the OP of all the movies you've all rec'd. Will do that soon and I plan to watch at least one tonight.

Yep, that's the one. Pulse is a good one as well. Kurosawa has a uniquely beautiful visual style.

Looks really interesting and I like the idea that the protagonist is a singer. Added. And thanks.
