This was via PM.

Do you just mean because of Lou Reed's impact on the industrial/noise genres? Because I can see that, but I think Jazkamer goes far beyond it.

Yes.

Maybe I'm picking your words apart here. I agree that they build on the genre and add to it. But if both records were acid trips I might be tripping a little harder on Reed's record. It's very mesmerizing and transcendent. I've also listened to it many many more times so it might be old friend syndrome.

I'm more of a MMM man as well, but Jazkamer is more dynamic. Probably just a product of a few extra decades of influences and genre evolution.

C.C.C.C., "Chaos is the Cosmos"

Brainwashed - C.C.C.C., "Chaos is the Cosmos"

Quote:
Chaos is the Cosmos is painted with broad frenzied brushstrokes and with flailing abandon for the most part, slabs of guitar fuzz feedback and keyboard generated noise providing solid background for the sound of howling instruments being tortured and abused

Heavy Winged prove long-form jams on traditional rock instruments can still produce forward-looking drone.
