For Henry F. Farny 1904 34° 48'N / 111° 54' W 3308/4708 by JEPH JERMAN

Jeph Jerman :: Foundation for Contemporary Arts

Quote:
In the mid-1980s, Jerman founded a cassette label for the distribution of music by himself and friends. The label released over 50 cassettes, several LPs, and a short-lived magazine.

...

Jerman continued playing with local groups of improvisers and began giving solo performances where he improvised with mostly natural found objects, a practice he continues today. He founded the first animist orchestra dedicated to making larger scale works using natural object play.
Label hype:

After Music Recordings LLC Store — Jeph Jerman: For Henry F. Farny 1904

Quote:
From one of the world's finest practitioners field recording, audio damage, and improvised sound, Jeph Jerman's CD is a wonder of found sound. One single strand of abandoned Arizonian telephone wire is tapped into to generate an amazing array of discordance, frequencies, reverberation. Wind and wire. The desert is better with headphones. Highly recommended!

EXPLORING JEZEBEL
WELTMEISTER

https://boomkat.com/products/weltmeister

Quote:
Pieces range from distorted GHB nightmare scenes to 'Mistress Isn't Sure She Likes The Idea Of Me Being At Home Thinking About Sex All The Day While She's Out Earning Money' to the desolate, depraved atmsophere of 'Hyperspace Chastity' and shivering vignettes 'Mistress Doesn't Allow Me To Raise My Voice' and 'My Heart Sank, But My Cock Was More Erect Than Ever Before'.
Straightforward noise.

A co-production between Old Heaven Books (Shenzhen) and Leo Records, this double CD is destined to become one of the strongest CDs in the entire Leo Records catalogue. Recorded in the Chinese city of Shenzhen in front of the full capacity audience hungry for new music, it was a triumphant artistic soccess. Chinese music fans got a chance to see the best Russian musicians of two generations, a combination of eternal wisdom and boundless energy. Beautifully recorded, the first CD consists of Vyacheslav Ganelin solo (42'05) plus Kruglov-Yudanov duo (35'11), while the second CD is devoted to the performance of the trio. 10-minute standing ovation. A milestone and a masterpiece.
It would be impossible for me to lavish too much praise on this.

Type it in and listen in awe:

Russian New Music in China.

Five stars? The universe doesn't have enough stars.

Hair Police - Mercurial Rights

Dusted Reviews: Hair Police - Mercurial Rights

Quote:
Hair Police have increasingly removed rhythm and melody altogether in favor of queasy non-tunes that shiver and seethe in a variety of directions before congealing into unstable wholes.
Mercurial Rites is quite possibly the band’s most slovenly release to date, with percussion and rhythm reduced to the bare minimum and sickly synths running throughout

This probably won't be anything new for serious fans of free jazz but an important record not to overlook none-the-less

ALAN SILVA - Skillfullness (ESP, 1969)

This is followed by a guy who stated that no interesting avant-garde jazz

"not much masterpieces for this time" - Ha! - oh, sheesh...
Wow.

First off, let me clear my name by distancing myself from those comments. Very strange indeed that anyone with that opinion would have enough interest to comment. I'm just quoting little snippets not endorsing entire sites.

Spotify falls short on Silva. I'm going to break my own rule and link to this:

That Chicago comment immediately made me think ART ENSEMBLE OF CHICAGO!!!! But pre-1970 I guess I need to back up to the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians. Perhaps, the Chicago comment comes from a musician who wanted to penetrate that scene but couldn't???

As for the Silva comment. Hell, he played on Unit Structures. If that guy is giving away his vinyl he can PM me. We can arrange a pick up!!!
