The Grove

This is easily my favorite spot in any GTA game, this place is the heart of the Grove street family and your starting point in the game.

Maybe it's cause i played San andreas alot but this spot for some reason to me is very memorable. i still remember where the streets lead to and how the gym is close by, it's layout is ingrained in my head.

See that orange glow? San andreas uses that tone alot throughout the game and personally i really like it.

the lightening and weather is different in every section of the game, honestly, San andreas is probably the most innovative game of the franchise because it set the precedent for the future of the franchise.

Now every Gta has implented a stat system and a character customization system, oh, also, this game has the best soundtrack of any Gta game.

Me too, the graphics are very outdated though but the gameplay is still fun, and that soundtrack, holy sh*t was it good.

Now back to a ps1 game

Blood omen: Legacy of Kain

This pic is the beginning scene of the game where you Kain a nobleman walks up to a bar and ask for help because you were lost or something i don't remember well but the bar keep turns you away in a very eerie way and when you walk out of the bar some guys show up to murder you.

no explanation why they just want to murder you and after they do you are treated to this cut scene.

That was you after they killed you.
it looks very outdated now but at the time that cutscene was epic, seeing that sword through your chest was a great detail they could've easily censored but they didn't, that little detail lets you know this is gonna be a dark evil tale of vengeance.

You resurrect as a vampire to take revenge on those who unjustly killed you.

Unjustly is the best way to describe the circumstances of his death because Kain didn't do anything to deserve that. (or did he?)

It doesn't matter now, now you're a Vampire and you're back for revenge, the funny thing is your quest for revenge eventually is overshadowed first by Kain's moral dilemma of becoming a monster and second by him eventually becoming that monster.

im no expert on the franchise but in later Legacy of Kain games Kain is portayed as one of the oldest and stongest vampires and if not mistaken he is viewed as a Vampire king.

What i remember most about this game was its dark overtones, you play in a gothic gloomy world as a vampire sucking the blood out of innocent ppl who's suffering is voice acted.

In the dungeons of this game there are voice acted prisoners who are chained to replenish your health and their tortured moans merge with the creepy atmospheric music this game has.

There were times in this game i genuinely got creeped out because this game is unapologetically evil and at the time ive never played a game like that.

The gameplay is what kept me coming back to it because this game plays like Zelda in the sense that it is an action adventure game.
i would say this game is like a mix of Diablo and Zelda, it has similar puzzles and it even has animal transformation powers you get in altars

I think you can turn into a wolf and a bat along with other animals and ofc these transformations are needed to pass certain puzzles in the game which are actually not very hard to figure out.

Overall this game was great and it's one of my favorites action adventure games of the ps1 along with Brave Fencer Musashi.

Default On The Ball

This is a puzzle/pinball-type game where the ball stayed stationary, and your objective was to turn the screen to get the ball to go in the right direction. The screen moved 360 degrees to accomplish this. "Come on, man, surely that ball is moving, right?" Nope. You can see in the video that there are multiple obstacles to prevent you from getting to the finish line before time expires. For example, the red/yellow "X" blocks take time away from the counter. There are also many ways to acquire points in order to rack up your score. While it may seem like turning the screen like this would play tricks on your mind, once you get used to what's going on, it all computes. I guess it's not accurate to lump this game in the pinball category, because it isn't pinball, but I'm not sure what to call it; it was a unique and interesting concept that doesn't fit a category.

System: Super Nintendo
Release Year: 1992

Fun game.

Wow, what a flashback! i played that game and didn't even remember until you mentioned it.

I didn't like it much though, the camera made me kinda dizzy and that along with the stage music created a nauseating experience for me but speaking of unique Snes games, did you ever play this one?

No, I can't say that I had. Kind of looks like it's from the same creators who developed Clay Fighters, which I did play.

I played Clay fighter too and i get what you mean, they do have a similar feel aesthetic wise but they aren't made by the same company, Clay fighter was made by Visual Concepts a subsidiary of 2k sports who also made another fighting game called Weapon lor which i played too.

I was thinking of reviewing this game actually but it's a pretty mediocre fighting game. Its only redeemable feature is you could link fatalities.

It has a pretty good concept but the janky controls ruin it.
