They can certainly miss the core of what makes the early games in a series great with their lowest common denominator pandering, but at the same time, they have the resources to be able to make something very professional. So long as that outweighs the loss in soul, then you might be alright, and since we're talking about a plotless, online shooter, then that may very well be the case.
