From what I hear of the modern CS:GO community I think I'd rather try to get into an earlier CS game that hasn't been infected by ****heads.

E3 [EA Panel] So first off, I'm going to start this off by saying that my little reviews about E3 will be more of my personal take on the panels, and less on the actual and realistic expectations of E3. To put it short, I don't really want to focus too much on what I'm personally hyped for etc because that would be boring and we've heard that a hundred thousands of times before. Instead, I'd like to just talk about the panels and the games that they showcased and perhaps I will also talk about whether or not I'm looking forward to said games. However, unfortunately and not entirely surprising to most, this years E3 has come off to a rocky start. So let's start this off by talking about the EA panel of E3 2018. So yeah, EA has once again managed to somehow up the cringe fest during their own performance at E3 this year. Not only are the games not even really worth mentioning, you can just tell that within the eyes of every EA employee, there was a little child screaming within them, begging to be let go and hoping people will forget what has happened in the past with them. I honestly tried to get excited about some of the releases they talked about this time, but I would say 99% of what they talked about was either total bull****, or a completely waste of time. They introduced the FIFA tournament stuff, and some more news on Star Wars games, which as we all know EA is just perfect for that kind of thing. Did I mention there was a weird absence of them talking about their huge ****fest that was Battlefront II? Well, don't worry. You can just see in their eyes that they really wanted to talk about it, but didn't care enough to do so. While EA has become an easy target lately in the gaming industry, it's really difficult to take them too seriously when they show the same exact trailer for Anthem that we have known about for several months. And the only gameplay they showed was during an interview with Bioware, with the screens in the background barely zooming in on actual gameplay. From what I could gather though, this is pretty much a carbon copy of Destiny, but EA is just putting their name on it. The first time I saw the trailer I was stoked, but from what they say the game is going to try to promise, I can't imagine it's going to be anything more than seriously disappointing. I may try it. But I don't hold my breath with games provided by EA. It's usually just a money grab. Fortunately, even with a rocky start, we have both Microsoft and Bethesda along with Devolver Digital doing their panels today. Hopefully we'll get some juicy news about a lot of games that I'm really looking forward to. And two big thumbs up for the reveal of Fallout 76. Let it now disappoint. You'll hear more on that once I've watched those segments. |

Only game from EA conference I would play at all is BF5 if they do it well. Anthem was really pretty but they demonstrated little gameplay aside from gliding around. Not holding my breath for either.

E3 [XBOX Panel] As tough as it is to admit, I have to hand it to Xbox and Microsoft for putting together a pretty fantastic conference for E3 this year. Fans and non fans alike, we were all hoping that Microsoft was going to bring something extra to the table, and man, they certainly did. Not only did that seem way more relaxed than EA during their conference, Microsoft also went above and beyond in terms of games you can expect from them. I'm not even an Xbox fan and I can certainly find some excitement for a large amount of the games they announced today. Titles like Forza Horizon 4 and the sequel to Ori and the Blind Forest are just a few of the amazing titles Xbox fans will see. I also have to add that it was pretty cool to see even more of a snippet of Fallout 76. And HOLY **** IT'S A PREQUEL I'M SO STOKED YES. This was certainly nice to see with Xbox going above and beyond, having so many games ready to go and a lot of games that are going to be ready to go in the near future. They introduced a lot of games that they are going to add to their Xbox Game Pass as well for those that are interested in that. All in all, not too disappointed with Xbox and their performance today. Now to see if Bethesda can perform better if not exceed expectations. |

E3 [Bethesda] Boy, when you expect something to be so great, and you end up being slightly disappointed, it's definitely...well...disappointing. Bethesda had their panel after Xbox pulled off one of their best panels, and...it sort of fell flat. Bethesda are always interesting to me, because I have a lot of respect for Todd Howard and what he has done with gaming, but although I'm not entirely against the idea of self deprecation and these types of events, I felt like the jokes were a bit too common, and the games they showed didn't really fit the hype for what we were wanting this year. The positives are that we did get a release date and a lot known about Fallout 76 which for me, it didn't disappoint. I'm obviously going to be cautiously optimistic because it's tough to tell what the game will be like from what they showed. However, it does look like it's going to be a **** ton of fun to jump in with friends and take on the apocalypse together. I do like that idea a lot. Which a lot of people seem not to. The negatives that I felt were more for the small teasers we got for Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6. However, it's nice to know that not only one of those games is on its way, but both of them are on their way and we can expect them in the next year or two. I was not impressed with how many non main series games they're planning. I mean, they have an entire new Elder Scrolls game to be played on a cell phone that looks amazing graphics wise, but why couldn't they put those resources and time into Elder Scrolls 6. They also talked more about Elder Scrolls Legends, and they somewhat jokingly said that they have the best online card game to date. However, I still think Hearthstone is holding that title, and will do for quite some time. At the end of the day, it's Bethesda. Can never really expect amazingly amazing things every year. But I will add that it was also really cool to see a new Doom in the horizon. I loved their previous title. I played the multiplayer so much in that game, and I'm happy to see that community may be revived again. I didn't watch Devolver Digital's panel so I've nothing to say about that. So far though, I'd say Xbox has had the most satisfying and terrific panel at E3 so far. It was certainly a good day for games though. I'm pleased. |
