I don't mind that the developer for Five Nights has been making money off of his idea. It was obviously a good idea, and I do enjoy the concept of the game itself, and they aren't the worst games i've ever played, it's just disappointing to see so much come out of it in such a short time. But again, the developer has made some good money so I would be happy if I were him. Yeah, it's pretty disappointing about Ori and The Blind Forest, because I was legitimately enjoying the heck out of the game. Everything about the mechanics to the storytelling to the graphics are all just top notch. A truly spectacular game and it's just a shame that the technical issues came up when I was really starting to get into it and get some momentum going in terms of powers and story. I just can't bring myself to finish Among The Sleep. With what you said about it being a Kickstarter though, I mean...the game isn't completely broken so I give the developers high fives for that. However, I just wish I knew what I was getting into before I actually played it. It's a shame to hear about the ending as well. One of these days, I may just finish it so I can say I finished it. But my motivation to do so isn't very high at the moment. I would still strongly recommend that you try out Ori and The Blind Forest for yourself, especially since I know you were someone that was looking forward to it. It's honestly a fantastic game. I just hope the technical issues get fixed so that when I play through it to get to where I was before my save deleted, it'll be a breeze. |

Yeah, I know sequel isn't the right word for what i'm going to talk about, but whatever. You ever want to play a series of games, but when you look at the ridiculous amount of games the franchise has made for that one series, that you just sort of look away because it's overwhelming? That's just me? Ok, well whatever. Anyway, i'm going to talk about some of the game series' that i've wanted to dive into, but the amount of games the series has is just...a lot. And before you say "just play one at a time", well obviously i'll do that. I just want to talk about them for argument sake. First off we have one series that is certainly on my list of games I want to play, but could never decide when to dive into them... Assassin's Creed In total, this series right now has...8 main games and a few others, and I can imagine that number is going to continue to grow as time goes on. Don't get me wrong, these games look absolutely amazing. I've actually seen someone play through the first game, and it looked like a lot of fun, but I've never actually sat down and played them myself. I'm a big fan of the stealth-esque open world type of deal it has going on, and i've always been a fan of Ubisoft. I have no idea when i'll start my journey on these games, but I know that over time, the older games will continue to get cheaper, so the longer I wait, the less money I have to pay to play them, which is pretty nice. Eventually, I want to play them all. The series has always gotten nothing but great reviews from what i've seen. That's not to say i'll enjoy them right away, but it's always nice to see people always talking highly of a series. Super Mario I think in total, i've played through...3 Mario games in my lifetime. Super Mario 64, the original, and Super Mario 3D world. It has always been a strange thing for me that i've never played any of the other ones. I've heard nothing but amazing things about the other games like Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, and many others, but man....there's so many. Nintendo has always been good about putting out an amazing game though, and from what I hear, people seem to get a lot of enjoyment out of every Super Mario release that comes out. It's weird with me though, because although i'm a fan of Super Mario, I won't go the store at the release of a new game and hope to be one of the first to beat the new game. It's sort of a "if I get the game, i'll play it" sort of thing. That's probably why i've missed out on playing so many of them. Soon, I want to fix that. I know I can use an emulator, but that's not always down my alley. Call of Duty I have played a total of 1 Call of Duty game in my lifetime. Call of Duty: Black Ops. Story was fantastic, and the multiplayer was a lot of fun, but it wasn't soon after that I realized how many god damn games are in this series of games. I obviously need to get on the earlier releases and some of the news ones, because from what I see / hear, a lot of them look right down my alley. I would like to at least play through all the earlier games that were set more in the world wars. Those ones seem to have amazing stories, and if you saw my thoughts on Homefront, you'd know i'm a big fan of a good story in a first person shooter game. It just makes it that much more fun. I've heard a lot of negative things about the newer age of Call of Duty games how it's just the same thing over and over again, but if you take a look at the numbers, the games sell, and they sell a lot of them. So why would they stop doing what works? In my opinion, they're doing exactly what they should do. They're sticking to what they know, and it seems to work with every new release. |

Assassin's Creed is a series that needs to ditch the modern day story and just focus on what I assumed the first game was going to be, Hitman but set in the Middle Ages. That said though, I definitely think you should check out Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China as it plays completely differently to the rest of the series, is set in a completely different setting than we're use to, and actually makes stealth viable. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is also a lot of fun as a pirate simulator, but does suffer from a lack of variety in the main story missions, which are pretty much variants of "tail the guy" or "tail the guy, then chase/ kill the guy". Assassin's Creed Liberation is also kind of cool and relatively cheap, and I've heard good things about Assassin's Creed Rogue where you get to play as an assassin turned templar and hunt down the Assassin order.
All that said though, it's definitely a game that seems pretty daunting to get into just due to the amount of games, but I'd say the cheaper, non-main story ones like Liberation, Chronicles: China, and Rogue might be good places to start. |

Well you'll be a greater man than me because I've only ever finished the 1st game and even that took me like 4 years to get around to doing.
Don't take that as a condemnation, they just have a really bad pacing issue where the first couple of hours is player training disguised as story missions and even after all of that I have this weird problem with Ubisoft open world games where my OCD kicks in and I have to collect EVERYTHING on the map. I swear most of the hours I've clocked in has just been me running/ horse riding/ sailing to pick up shards or chests or whatever. Hopefully you won't have the same affliction. |

^im just like you when it comes to having to collect everything. What I try to do to distract me is to make a goal of finishing the story first, then collect everything on another file / new game. But yeah, I have the same OCD, I have to collect EVERYTHING in the area before I progress.

I did every side mission on ME1 and frankly wanted more, i also liked doing every side mission on AC:Brotherhood to complete the map and own all of the shops but doing so distracted me from the main story and i never finished it.
