Ki, tell me you saw the game theory eps on the binding of isaac. i haven't even played the game and that Sh*t made sense to me.
Made me want to play the game, Looks like a game you can easily pick up for some quick fun. @Batlord Pewdiepie sucks, i can easily name you 5 playthrough players that are funnier than him. Jacksepticeye Tobyturner TotalBiscuit Nerdcubed Cryotic Pewdiepie while not the worst YT gamer is pretty average. i don't really see why ppl like him so much.

So, collecting Pokemon cards has been something i've been wanting to get back into, and I have finally done it. I bought a few packs yesterday and it was the greatest feeling in the world. I'm going to use this journal to sort of showcase the cooler cards that I get out of packs / boxes / tins / etc. It won't be too in depth as it's just going to talk about the cards that I get, but I figure it'd be cool to talk about. Anyway, I got a great pull yesterday, and i'm thinking i'll use this graphic to present it: So, I bought an Elite Trainer Box yesterday with a Groudon graphic on the side because I've heard you can get some really good pulls from it. Well, I got a pretty damn good pull: Primal Groudon EX I'm pretty excited to have gotten this because I have seen people rarely pull this card from the Elite Trainer Box, and to have one for myself feels awesome. Great way to start up my Pokemon card collection. |

On top of the Primal Groudon EX card that I got, I also got two more Groudon EX cards from a booster pack and a Groudon EX tin. Plus a non holo Groudon rare card. So in one day, i've collected 4 different Groudon cards. Which is good because I absolutely love Groudon. |

So, yesterday I opened another booster pack (they usually contain 10 cards, unless you get a japanese one which holds 7), and I got something pretty sweet: Sharpedo EX I'm making my EX collection pretty big pretty fast. It's very motivating to continue opening more packs when I get pulls like this. I know that there's an average of...1 EX card every 4 packs or so depending on the set. I can't know for certain what they real numbers are for that, but that's just what i've seen, and that's been my experience so far. What I am really hoping to get soon from the same set is the Sharpedo EX full art: Spoiler for sharpedo ex full art:
I know those cards are extremely rare to come by, but I really want to get at least one. There's quite a few of different ones. |

Super Mario 64 Continuing on with my top 10 favorite games list, we get to number 7 which just so happens to be Super Mario 64. Back then, these type of graphics were life changing. Out of all the games that I had for the N64, I think this is in the top 3 for games that got the most playtime from me. It had everything. An amazing overworld, fantastic level design (some of which were very difficult) and each time you went to the level, you were doing a different objective which sometimes made the environment different, making your experience with the level a little different each time. With a game as vast as it is, it's no surprise that there were 120 stars to collect throughout the entire game, and a few boss fights in between. Each level was different in it's own special way, and none of them felt boring and each level had it's own unique design that made all the levels different from one another, while still maintaining the same goal, collect the stars and move onto the next level. This is one of the first games I actually finished 100% and to this day. It's a game that definitely holds it's place throughout the years, and is still to this day one of the better Mario games to come out. |

Name: Jasper Game: Fable III Freakin' Jasper, man. This guy was pretty much the epitome of annoying when it came to having to go into the Sanctuary in Fable III. However, being as annoying as he was, there was still a bit of charm to him. Him telling you that you have new items available was always a nice treat especially when you were least expecting it. Of course, some like to think that perhaps Jasper was running around the Sanctuary wearing the hero's clothing while he was off doing quests and all that dangerous stuff. I often wondered why my sword were always dull and I had no ammo for my guns. Nonetheless, Jasper played a pretty important role in this game, judging by his biography: Quote:

Alright, so I play a lot of games. And I mean I watch the steam sales like a hawk most times so that if there's a game that i've been wanting to play and it's on sale, I grab it. It's not a bad thing since I see it as more of a hobby than anything else. Hey, I could be out getting drunk and all that, but i'm not. I'm inside playing video games. Anyway, what I want to talk about are some games that I have played over the years that at first glance, looked great, but upon playing them, I couldn't help but be disappointed. There are a lot of different ways a game can have a positive or a negative effect on me. Most of it is due to how the game feels right off the bat, and more importantly if the opening cutscenes are filled with blocky character design and poor voice acting. I don't know about you, but if a game is filled with poor voice acting, I can't enjoy it. Some games i've played have the option to turn the voices off and just have subtitles, but it takes away from getting grasped into the games story line. These are some of those games that really never left a great impression on me and to this day, I rarely ever pick them up to play them again. Let's get right into it. Borderlands: The Pre Sequel So, I picked this game up when it was on sale. I think I got it for around 10 bucks, can't quite remember. Anyway, as most Bonderlands fans, I was really looking forward to this one. Not only was it a new Borderlands game, it was a "prequel" to the entire story that you're put into in the previous games. The concept was interesting and when I saw the previews and you could have anti gravity jumps etc, it looked like it was going to be a lot of fun and something brand new. Well...it was definitely brand new for the franchise, but they went about it all the wrong way. First of all, the voice acting. Everyone is talking with an Australian accent, which i'm not against the accent at all, but in a Borderlands game, it just does not work. It didn't really bother me much at first, but when I was really getting into the combat and all I could hear is people talking like they were from Australia, it really made it more funny than it should have been. I'm sorry, but if I were to land on the moon for a couple missions, I wouldn't expect the life on the moon to sound like they migrated from Australia. Another thing was the added oxygen that you had to constantly keep an eye on. C'mon Gearbox, really? Not only do we have to watch our shield level and our HP but now we have to constantly run around from place to place while also making sure that our oxygen level is taken care of? I want to play the game, I don't want to be focusing on another way that could possibly kill me. You should've just played it safe and didn't bother adding oxygen into the equation. I'm sure people would have forgiven the fact it for it being a game in the first place. You didn't have to go that realistic. Unfortunately, a few other things along those lines just ruined the experience. One big one was the new weaponry you could get. More specifically the shock weapons. Again, cool idea. Something that could have really worked. But unfortunately when I was using them, I really didn't feel much of a punch when using them like I did as I played the berserker in the first game. It just felt like a beam running out of my gun and hurting the enemy (which didn't do much to begin with). At the moment, I have 6 hours put into the game, which I don't think is that accurate considering I really don't feel like I put that much time into the game quite yet. It's also been uninstalled from my steam library since for whatever reason, when I start it up I get to a "downloading updates" page and just stays there for hours. Trust me, I checked. Definitely disappointed with this one but at least I have Borderlands 2 to keep me busy. Five Nights at Freddy's Man, I don't see what it is about this game that people seemed to enjoy so much. And I am also caught surprised by why they had to make not one, but two more sequels, and apparently there's even a movie being made about it? Really? First off, again, just like Borderlands, the concept could have been great, and at first, I did find myself enjoying it for the most part, but as there's not a whole lot of stuff to do once you figure everything out, the game grew stale in about 5 minutes of playing. I did do a full playthrough until I was caught by Freddy or whatever they have that attacks you, and that did catch me off guard, but when I knew it happened, it just made the replay value incredibly stale and annoying. I haven't even bothered playing the next two in the series because from what i've seen on Youtube, it just looks like a remade polished version of the first game, which is fine. If the developer is making money off of the franchise, he has nothing to worry about. I'll not be bothering with this series of games anymore though. Ori and The Blind Forest I imagine some of you are surprised to see this mentioned on here, but before you get mad at me, keep in mind that I do love the game. Everything about the gameplay mechanics to the story to the graphics are all top notch, however my experience with the game have not been so great. I don't know if I got a ****ty copy of the game or if other people are having the same issues that I had, but this game is just filled with glitches / invisible walls you can get stuck behind. Funny thing is, when I got stuck on my first playthrough inside a wall that I couldn't get myself out of, I did a Google search and there was a way to get out of the hole I was in through debugging. But again, I shouldn't have to take the extra steps to get out of a stuck spot that shouldn't have been there in the first place. Of course, once I was able to figure my way out of the area I got stuck in, my game decided to not only stop recording the achievements I got throughout the rest of my progress, but for some reason decided to delete the file that I had progressed on. Since then, I haven't bothered playing through it again. I'm planning to play it again soon to get to the point that I was at, but I found myself getting more annoying with the "incompleteness" and glitches instead of just enjoying the game for what it is. Perhaps a patch to fix it, developers? Keep in mind, these games here have all been from a PC experience. If there is a difference experience from playing them on console, i'd love to hear it. As it stands though, these are just a few that i've been disappointed with. There'll be more though, don't worry. |

Continuing on from my previous post about disappointing games...
Among The Sleep This could have been such a cool game. I really liked the perspective from a toddler and having to crawl your way around to find things out etc etc. I'm also a huge fan of the survival horror genre, it's probably my favorite genre for gaming, but this one really does not deserve a spot in my favorite experiences in that genre. First off, graphically the game is not that great. Before I got my new graphics card, I was able to play this game on full graphics, and that didn't even make the game look that much better. Honestly, this game looks like one you'd find on the Gamecube. Along with that was the overall experience I had with the game in the first 30 minutes. I was expecting some jump scares, and some scary moments, and things like that, but I got none of that. All I got out of that experience was hearing things throughout the house, crawling to them, only to find that there is nothing there, leaving me disappointed. Honestly, I think I was expecting too much, along the lines of Amnesia in the perspective of a baby, but what I got was again, utter disappointment. The game could have been great and if the developers had gone the right way with it, I probably would have bothered finishing it. But unfortunately it just felt like more of a chore, and I didn't really bother continuing on with it from the point I was at. That'll be all for now. I can't think of any others at the moment. |

As for Five Nights At Freddie's, it's basically YouTube fodder. Popular YouTube personalities make their facecam videos of them shrieking like a banshee and then all their follows go out and give it a go because it's reasonably priced. It has some interesting storytelling and there are some cool theories out there for it, but yeah I do think releasing 3 games over the course of 6 months was perhaps a little overdoing it. That said though, all the games sold and Scott Cawthon is significantly richer than he was this time last year. It's a shame that Ori and the Blind Forest has technical issues, I've heard some people complain about the ending though which has definitely lowered it on my list of priority games for 2015. Maybe I'll pick it up during the summer sale, or wait till the end of the year. Finally there's Among the Sleep... Now graphics wise, yes it really isn't anything spectacular but it was a Kickstarter game with a pretty meager goal. My real problems with the game lay with its short length, clocking in just under 2 hours for me to complete it, and for it's pretentious twist ending which I called pretty early on. |
