Hello and welcome to my music journal, in which I'll be talking about the albums I listen to, the records and other music things I buy, the songs I (try to) write, my adventures in the world of music journalism, and so forth.
To start things off: Today, in anticipation of writing an article on the group and early Bowie in general, I've been listening to a bootleg Arnold Corns compilation - apparently complete. Bizarrely, it includes a version of Looking for a Friend on a radio show hosted by Gene Vincent, of all people! Vincent's introduction makes reference to a version of The Supermen by Arnold Corns - seems that that didn't survive time. If anybody could direct me to when and on which show that was broadcast, that would be fantastic. Incidentally, Bowie's vocals on the Corns demo of Lady Stardust are amazing. And quite the tearjerker in light of recent events. |
