This is because I kicked you, isn't it?
http://babysimpson.co.uk/gallery/frames/8/3f24/201.jpg Well, welcome and let's see what you can do. I would take Ki's advice seriously though and try to improve your English. People may read your journal initially for novelty/fun value but if (if) you want to be taken seriously we have to be able to understand what you're saying. Still, a brave move and I applaud it... That's one small step for Journaltown, one giant leap for Norg... http://www.esa.int/var/esa/storage/i..._17_medium.jpg |

I read NoЯg's writings just fine (most of the time). He's pithy, and like Polonius said "brevity is the soul of wit." |

I couldn't find the actual picture, but Homer kicks the turtle because it's slow, then leads him to a huge mountain he has to climb and he looks at the turtle and says the above, and it nods. I don't expect to have to explain everything with puppets and diagrams, but that's what it means for those who were unfamiliar with our favourite cartoon family. The reason I did that, is that I'm saying that Norg began his journal because I slagged him off by choosing him for "Post of the Week" in the Update Thread. It was a joke. Remember those? And let's be honest: clear, concise English is requested in the rules. Norg doesn't even make an effort to be understandable: it's like he invented his own language, so Ki has a perfect right to challenge him on it. He's not the only one who has done so. You may find his comments "pithy", I find them incomprehensible, littered with spelling mistakes and often self-contradictory. To use the phrase "brevity is the soul of wit" does not fit here; it's not that he's being brief --- Urban and Batty can make great points in a few words --- he's in fact rambling on and not often making sense. That's not brevity, that's laziness. |
Great journal so far dude.

I'm not gonna try to encourage him to fix his grammar in general, as that is clearly pointless, but I'd still suggest writing more formally in his journal. Making it more readable makes people want to read it. I won't hound you again, but I'm just throwing it out there.
Oh, and just FYI, embedded Youtube vids rather than entire links make people more likely to click on them, as it's just more convenient. I can just keep the page open and go down the line of vids without having to open a bunch of tabs. If you're going to embed a bunch of videos however, putting them in spoiler tags keeps from making people's computers freeze. That said, even if your taste isn't shared by most of the board, I still like the idea of you exploring and informing us all of the music you listen to in a way that you normally wouldn't, due to there being not that many threads that fall in line with your normal listening habits. Whatever I might say about your grammar and attitude, I kind of respect your "don't give a ****" approach and commitment to sticking to your guns. A dedicated journal might just be the way to gain more respect from members otherwise critical of how you post in general. I say this in no way to encourage you to participate in my Metal Survivor thread, as I would certainly not beg like a bitch when it comes time for the alt metal battle. Nope. Not at all my intention in any way whatsoever, so put that out of your mind. |

I should perhaps make it clear that I'm not trying to put the dude down. Anyone who has the stones to make a journal and put their thoughts out there gets props from me (what am I doing, trying to be cool?) but as Batty says, people have a lot of choice as to what to read here and if you want to attract people to your journal it does help to have coherent sentences and basic proper spelling. Not a criticism, as such, just advice. If you've decided to write, then you really should try to make the effort to make your writing as legible and understandable as possible.
Anyway, welcome to Journaltown, Norg, and expect to be featured in Sunday's update. :thumb: |
Hahaha yall think to much to quote the great Ryan Fitzpatrick "I'm not a man of many words"
but if I do write it will be short in sweet and prob be about the feeling or sound of music.Because at the end of the day that's what most people here really only care about. They wanna know what there clicking lol Posted from work ! |
