I totally knew that'd be the colour scheme of the track list, I even think I mentioned it when I dropped the rec. And ja that's already one of the rules you've established, whatever. I just slipped this one in when you were thinking of doing a last run on the Love or Hate? thread. I'll leave you alone. Maybe. We'll see if I ever end up dropping that pop album.

Whose head is being blown off? Enquiring minds want to know... Did you send it? If not, please do, as I don't have it on the list and I'm getting through the albums relatively quickly now. It'll be up in less than an hour.

Ok, after some unavoidable delay we now can get to Tristan. I remember I reviewed, like Xurtio, the previous album from his band and remarked that the production was terrible. He says that this time it's better. Let's see.
Disregardier – General Disregard (Tristan Geoff) – 2016 The one thing I will give Tristan here is that his album is incredibly short. There are two songs which are less than a minute, two that are a minute and the longest is just over two minutes, so this won't take long to listen to. Sweet. Well the sound is still very raw, but I guess with a garage punk band you would expect that. Nice riff, but I can't really get a handle on the song itself. Vocals are again very low in the mix so it's hard to hear them, guitar is drowning everything out, including the drums. This opener is one of the longer (!) tracks, at just over two and a half minutes and it's called “Uncle Charlie”. I can't really find anything to say about it. Some silly radio stuff at the end. “Train hopping” has a kind of blues feel to it, but my Jesus the vocals are almost inaudible; can the guy not stand closer to his microphone? Sorry lads but if this is better produced then you just need a better singer, or one who can project better. It's pretty awful, vocalwise, though I do like the melody and the beat. Too short though. The “epic” (!) is next, almost three minutes of “Gorgasm”. It's entertaining and you can just about hear the singer, though just barely. Either buy this man a decent mike or push him right up beside it: he sounds like he's standing at the back of, or even outside, the garage trying to be heard. Nice sort of blues breakdown here, like that a lot. Reminds me oddly of the Clash. Oh dear: if Tristan's real name is Flip, then he is the singer! Sorry dude; I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say you just need to do as I mentioned above. Good guitarist though. Maybe you might want to consider getting a separate vocalist in? “White people!” and “Amphetamine” are forty seconds long each, so hard to get any sense of either. The first seems to be mostly a drum solo, while the second is a riff-fest with added drums. That leaves “Bands Tristan likes”, the closing track at just over a minute, and it's probably the best of the bunch here, with a nice fast strummed guitar and harmonica. Can't go wrong with a harmonica! Track Listing and Ratings 1. Uncle Charlie 2. Train hopping 3. Gorgasm 4. White people! 5. Amphetamine 6. Bands Tristan likes Same problem as before, guys. Either you're just not a good singer, Tristan, or you need to learn to project, or the production is shitty again. Either way, I can barely make out what you're singing. You're a good guitarist though. I'm not sure what else to say. Not a total disappointment, but when you mentioned the production had been addressed, I have to admit, I was expecting better. Third time lucky?
