And we're back! I guess I found myself more busy in the past month and didn't take the time to come in here and post my (already created elsewhere) lists.

2003
Really really good year. About 2/3 of these were already in rotation in 2003/2004, but a lot of other favorites from back then didn't make the cut - specifically in the emo/hardcore realm. On the Might of Princes, Bear vs Shark, Coheed and Cambria, Haste, The Postal Service, Hot Cross, Brand New, etc. all released albums I loved at the time. Some I thought for sure would make it to the top 10 ended up not making it because I'm just not into it anymore. Ten is such a small number, especially when you own about 90 releases from any given year. My number one choice was a more recent discovery for me, probably about 5 years after release, but is one of the best IDM albums I've heard as well. One of the two members is Duncan Murphy aka Sunken Foal, an artist I frequently speak highly of.

1. Ambulance - The Curse of Vale Do Lobo
2. The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium
3. The Shins - Chutes Too Narrow
4. Alamo Race Track - Birds at Home
5. Chris Clark - Empty the Bones of You
6. Viktor Vaughn - Vaudeville Villain
7. Prefuse 73 - One Word Extinguisher
8. Radiohead - Hail to the Thief
9. Sun Kil Moon - Ghosts of the Great Highway
10. The White Stripes - Elephant

Honorable mentions:

Swingin' Utters - Dead Flowers, Bottles, Bluegrass, and Bones
Ambulance LTD - Ambulance LTD
Tomahawk - Mit Gas
Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks - Pig Lib
The Fall - The Real New Fall LP: Formerly Country on the Click
The Knife - Deep Cuts
Four Tet - Rounds
Mew - Frengers
Ween - Quebec
Plaid - Spokes
Autechre - Draft 7.30
Odd Nosdam - No More Wig for Ohio
Cursive - The Ugly Organ
The Wrens - The Meadowlands
On the Might of Princes - Sirens

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

2005
Back from the dead...again. Foscil is a really interesting live instrument instrumental hip-hop album out of Seattle. I moved here the following year and was happy to discover it. It still sits atop my list while others have come and gone from the top 10.

Spotify Playlist - 2005 Top 10

1. Fossil - Foscil
2. Wax Tailor - Tales of the Forgotten Melodies
3. Oneida - The Wedding
4. The Evens - The Evens
5. DANGERDOOM - The Mouse and the Mask
6. The Mars Volta - Frances the Mute
7. Mew - And the Glass Handed Kites
8. Wilderness - Wilderness
9. Venetian Snares - Rossz csillag alatt született
10. Autechre - Untilted

2006
What a great fuucking year we have here. This also happens to be the year my ex-girlfriend and I packed up and moved across the country from Houston to Seattle. Good riddance! I was already buying a lot of music before, but I think moving to a new city, not knowing anyone, and being surrounded by record stores caused an uptick in my purchasing. I think I doubled my collection in a couple of years. Anyway all of that isn't really relevant to the year's top 10. The Knife released their best so far, as did mewithoutYou even though I didn't realize it at the time. Clark's Body Riddle is up there as a favorite of mine but was eventually topped by 2009's Totems Flare. I didn't discover Alamo Race Track until several years later, but this is also their best album. I'm not familiar with Melvins' entire discography, but this is certainly their best post-90s release to date, up there with Houdini and Stoner Witch. And Plaid - having left fans anxious for new material since 2003's Spokes - released the stunning soundtrack to an Anime film which to me was better than Spokes.

Spotify Playlist - 2006 Top 10+

1. The Knife - Silent Shout
2. mewithoutYou - Brother, Sister
3. Clark - Body Riddle
4. Melvins - (A) Senile Animal
5. TV on the Radio - Return to Cookie Mountain
6. Band of Horses - Everything All the Time
7. Plaid - Tekkonkinkreet OST
8. Alamo Race Track - Black Cat John Brown
9. The Mars Volta - Amputechture
10. Built to Spill - You In Reverse

Yay! I don't think we share any albums though.

I just reviewed your 2006 list. Arctic Monkeys was close to making it into my top 10.
